Inside Line Equipment

ILE bags are created while in the saddle of a bicycle. On the way to the local crit or cross race, or riding home with a bag of groceries. They are designed with strength and simplicity in mind, and the style and elegance found in cycling itself. ILE use the toughest materials, and best machines, to make durable bags of all types.

These well designed bags are created for cyclists and urban lifestyle fans. They have a lovely story as, until recently, they were made singlehandedly by Eric Fisher, the inspired cyclist turned designer, in a warehouse which doubled up as his home!

Today they are still designed and made by Eric in a bespoke new warehouse with assistance from skilled machinists to fulfil larger orders. Lifetime warranty on materials and craftsmanship. Handmade in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Inspired by his surroundings and new ideas Eric keeps the range constantly updated with new designs and colours. Follow his blog and stay informed with what’s happening.

Below are some of the key bags in the range for 2014! All bags are available in a wide range of colours and finishes including waxed canvas and Molle (selective models).

Spada Wheels

Straight from the workshops of Tirano in northern Italy comes the Spada range of wheels. Truly beautiful pieces, each set is built around Spada’s own handmade hub. Hand built and overseen by Corrado Spada himself these are wheels are built with high quality, robustness and at fantastic weight point.

Corrado Spada is a dreamer and a perfectionist, he is one of those people who are perpetually driven by curiosity and the need to improve. Which is easy to see when coming into his store and workshop in Tirano, nestled in the legendary Valtellina Valley near lake Como.

Corrado is the last descendant of a family of artisan bicycle frame builders, started by his grandfather and then passed to his father, who was an avid cyclist and regional champion in 1950. Corrado was strongly influenced by this environment and, at the age of 19, had already begun to build his own frames, firstly steel, then aluminium.

Corrado soon turned his attention to hubs. He could see the potential for improvement, so developed hubs that were lighter and more efficient. His technical expertise led to the design and manufacture of many special components in ultra-light aluminium alloys and carbon.

His lifelong attention to detail has stayed with him and can be seen in every Spada product.

The passion for cycling equipment in the valley of Valtellina is easy to understand. The Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo passes, which are infamous worldwide, have been visited by the Giro d’Italia since the 1950s and have helped forge the careers of many cycling legends including Coppi, Bartali, Koblet, Hinault, Gaul, Pantani, Basso, Nibali and Contador. Spada wheels truly come from the beating heart of Italian cycling.
